SUMMARY:Neo Mythology
DESCRIPTION:Neo Mythology is an art show at bG Gallery in Bergamot Station that gathers artworks that bring myth to life in a contemporary context. \nFrom the time of antiquity\, humans have wondered about the mysteries of the world around them. When reason and science cannot provide a satisfying answer\, imagination steps in and mythology takes root. The resulting works offer insight into a culture’s ever fluctuating perspective on existence. \nAn exhibit of the power of belief and imagination\, Neo Mythology explores peoples understanding of the environment by mythical connection to the land and environment. It both shows the evolution of belief as a positive force as well as hinting at the dangers of it. \nOpening Reception: \n

SUMMARY:Kismetdipity\, Spring Arts Collective
DESCRIPTION:Kismetdipity: The force which directs two or more people to the right place at the right time. A gift of accidental happiness. \nThe Springs Arts Collective Gallery celebrate 3 years of working together in “Kismetdipity” with Collective artists David Lovejoy\, Robin McGeough\, Liz Huston\, Andrea Bogdan\, Jena Priebe\, Winston Secrest\, Tifanee Taylor and Darrell Harvey.  \nKismetdipity celebrates the accidental happy happenstance of a group of people meeting and forging a lasting bond. The show embodies the strength of its members and their respect for one another and the world around us. All of the artists are reusing objects or celebrating our planet in their works to celebrate VisionLA Fest and our solidarity to be a part of a positive change regarding the environmental issues and concerns in our world. \nDavid Lovejoy and Jena Priebe both reuse mixed media objects and ephemera in their works. Winston Rylee and Tifanee Taylor are doing works on discarded pieces of wood. Andrea Bogdan is using pages from an old calendar book and painting on them. Darrell Harvey\, an old children’s book collaged. Robin McGeough reuses fabric and sews on canvases. Liz Huston celebrates the magic and splendor of the world in her surreal renderings. \nThe Spring Arts Collective is located upstairs from the Last Bookstore in downtown L.A. and is open the same hours as the bookstore: \nMon-Thur 10A – 10P \nFri-Sat 1oA – 11P \nSun 10A – 9P

SUMMARY:H2O Tiles
DESCRIPTION:This is a team project with Roberto L. Delgado (Lead Artist)\, Leo Limon\, and Oscar Duardo. The team will create and distribute common Home Depot 4″x4″ tiles fired with a silkscreened image of “H2O” in 4 to 6 basic fonts layered over a number of photosilkscreens of people\, in about 30 unique designs. The people photos have been taken by Delgado over the past few years in Highland Park\, Cypress Park\, and Lincoln Heights. The dynamic works like a trading card\, with people comparing what tiles they have with what others have collected. They compare\, talk\, and sometimes trade. The palm-size tiles will be collectible quality and will be distributed free of charge. \nTiles will be distributed around different VisionLA Fest venues with accompanying social media announcements\, so collectors can track the latest sighting of the new H20 tile. Be the first to collect them all!

SUMMARY:MorYork Gallery
DESCRIPTION:Clare Graham creates “Recycled Art\,” or art made from discarded materials. The Moryork Gallery features a stunning\, playful and transporting display of dozens of selected works. Groupings of curious pieces often take the form of furniture and many of his sets contain hundreds of thousands of individual recycled items such as scrabble tiles\, bottlecaps\, etc. \nGraham’s work shows how re-purposing the everyday results in a vivid\, imaginative re-framing of the familiar\, a skill to be celebrated by a world now struggling for balance and sustainability. \nThe Moryork Gallery in Highland Park will be open to the public from Nov 30 – Dec 5\, from 2pm-4pm. \nThis event is free.
