SUMMARY:SprayTeam6 - Climate Change
DESCRIPTION:Anonymous members of SprayTeam6 will expose cathartic truths about climate change into L.A. city sidewalks during the Dec 12 Building Blocks Climate Action\, using pressurized pounds of purifying liquid purges (water collected from rain barrels).  The clean will clearly call out climate causing crud-crap and challenge circumvention.

SUMMARY:Mesoamérica Resiste and Pollinating Ríos Vivos
DESCRIPTION:The Bees are back on tour with their giant\, portable murals! Beehive Collective’s graphics aim to draw out the connections between colonial history and present day struggles against corporate globalization\, violence\, and racism. The Beehive creates anti-copyright graphics as tools for popular analysis\, education\, and organizing. Our presentations and workshops offer an accessible format for unpacking the ways in which resource extraction\, militarization\, and industrial development in the Western Hemisphere are all interconnected in the same ‘big picture.’ \nThis presentation will highlight the Ríos Vivos Movement of Colombia\, the social movement of dam impacted communities that struggle for the defense of their territories and rivers\, the work of the Beehive’s Polinizaciones Process process that collaborates with communities impacted by resource extraction in the use of arts\, culture\, and communications as strategies for land defense\, Beehive graphic of Mesoamérica Resiste\, accompanied by photographs\, short films\, personal experiences\, and stories about the communities in resistance we have been weaving relationships of mutual aid with over the last eight years in Colombia. \nThis is a free event!

SUMMARY:H2O Tiles
DESCRIPTION:This is a team project with Roberto L. Delgado (Lead Artist)\, Leo Limon\, and Oscar Duardo. The team will create and distribute common Home Depot 4″x4″ tiles fired with a silkscreened image of “H2O” in 4 to 6 basic fonts layered over a number of photosilkscreens of people\, in about 30 unique designs. The people photos have been taken by Delgado over the past few years in Highland Park\, Cypress Park\, and Lincoln Heights. The dynamic works like a trading card\, with people comparing what tiles they have with what others have collected. They compare\, talk\, and sometimes trade. The palm-size tiles will be collectible quality and will be distributed free of charge. \nTiles will be distributed around different VisionLA Fest venues with accompanying social media announcements\, so collectors can track the latest sighting of the new H20 tile. Be the first to collect them all!

SUMMARY:"Wake Up" Community Climate Arts Mural
DESCRIPTION:A large collaborative narrative mural entitled “Wake-Up” is on display at the Amity Foundation. This painting was created by a group of 10 talented Amity Foundation residents. It depicts the group’s expression of a world where they and future generations can thrive. Their interactive art experience began with a Pachamama Alliance workshop giving them a chance to tune in with the state of our world today\, their feelings about it\, and their potential as “change makers” in it. \nAmity Foundation is reconnecting individuals who have been “thrown away” in foster care\, juvenile and adult prisons\, and mental institutions with healthy food\, source separation\, waste reduction\, product stewardship\, and alternative gardening practices. Creating safe and therapeutic spaces that shine a light on the parallels between the macrocosm (planet) and microcosm (individual) to inspire change through the conservation of natural resources\, that slowly shift wasteful behavior to a more sustainable one. \nMural is on view December 1-7\, from 9am – 5pm

SUMMARY:L.A. MUDPEOPLE
DESCRIPTION:The L.A. MUDPEOPLE may be glimpsed hanging out at the VisionLA Fest Gala Opening event on Nov. 30.  Avoiding anthropological research and correctness\, the LA tribe evolved over a few years into a slow-moving\, non-verbal curious tribe who often find what they need for clothing & ornamentation during walkabouts around town\, our local deserts & mountains. LAMP find wonderful moments in the place most people by-pass\, overlook or step thru. Each step\, and space between the step\, is ripe and rich. There is a connection between the homeless living on the edge of society and the MUDPEOPLE; however\, the L.A. MUDPEOPLE are happy and in no need of hope. \n  \nThe MUDPEOPLE just hang out\, make discoveries as children\, wherever they are: streets or clubs\, city or in more natural settings. \nThe LAMP are an alternative to stress\, goals\, speed\, consumption\, violence\, greed\, fear\, etc… They are transformational\, accepting\, and process. The only footprints they may leave would be mud or mud objects and the wonder that may be in the eyes of the beholder.
