DESCRIPTION:A lovely outdoor classroom along the LA River is the venue for a Conversation about Water\, Biodiversity and the LA River with artists\, scientists and educators: \n\nDietrich Schuhl (Harvard-Westlake\, Environmental Science\, Dean of Faculty)\,\nMike Antos (Cal State Northridge\, Director CSN Center for Water Resilience)\nJeff Hutchison (Tree People\, Community Education Manager\, Sustainable Solutions)\nCitizen Science biologist from the Natural History Museum of LA County\nModerated by Cynthia Hirschhorn\n\nWorld renowned LA artist Damian Elwes will also discuss his life-size paintings of Colombian Cloud Forests and the Great Barrier Reef to be reproduced soon on ceramic tiles for a Mountains to Sea Civic Art Garden. \nThis event is presented by Unycyn Civic Arts in coordination with The Village Gardeners and VisionLA ’15 Climate Action Arts Festival.

SUMMARY:Move the World DanceActivism presents Consumed
DESCRIPTION:Move the World is a youth performing group ages 9-19 that blends art with social change. They create unique dance pieces focus on a social and environmental messages \, inspiring the audience to think and to act. \nConsumed is a live dance piece that incorporates dance\,  a film backdrop\, and aerials silks. Consumed challenges the audience and those performing to consider our habits around purchasing and consuming products in order to fit in and measure up. The lead character travels through his own process of avid youth consumerism\, confronting his addiction\, social status and arrives at a more thoughtful and sustainable place. \nTickets are free but space is limited.  Please make a reservation to secure a seat.
